The Journey of Reproduction Begin
Oil painting replicas are artworks created by reproducing the original paintings of artists. The history of oil painting reproduction dates back to the 16th century. Traditionally, students of the old masters learned to paint by imitating their teachers' styles. Over time, especially after World War II, in modern society, the demand for art reproductions grew alongside the art market, collection of famous paintings, and souvenirs centered around oil paintings. Changes in human lifestyles and cultural development accelerated the need for art reproductions, leading to the rapid growth of the art reproduction industry. During that period, many artists and workshops focused on producing oil painting copies, making art more accessible to the public. These reproductions allowed ordinary people to enjoy renowned artworks at lower prices. They were often displayed as decorative pieces in homes, restaurants, workplaces, and public spaces to enhance the artistic ambiance and sensory experience.
By the early 1990s, rising production costs in Europe prompted manufacturers to seek more affordable alternatives. During this time, Hong Kong and Mainland China were renowned as the "world's factories," attracting European traders seeking reliable manufacturing partners. By the late 1990s, our predecessor company began acting as an intermediary, facilitating cooperation between European clients and Chinese producers. European traders supplied original artworks, while our team supervised the reproduction process through collaborations with Chinese factories. Major production hubs like Dafen Village in Shenzhen - China emerged during this period, and handling most of our early orders. As the industry developed, production expanded to other regions in China to meet the increasing demand from Europe. This marked our official entry into the art reproduction field, a foundation that continues to influence our operations today.

Transformation of Art Print Production
By the middle 2000s, the art market for oil painting increasingly emphasized originality, leading to a decline in the value of reproductions. The global financial crisis triggered by Lehman Brothers significantly impacted markets of luxury and non-essential products and services, additionally time consume and costly reproduction processes and technological shifts significantly reduced demand for oil paintings and reproductions. During the rapid development of computer technology in the 1990s, computer printing techniques adapt the producing of high quality prints, and the widespread use of digital cameras made photo printing in a new cultural art form. At this stage, artwork reproduction primarily utilized Inkjet Large Format Printers, with Giclee as the benchmark for high quality computing art reproduction.
The giclee printing emphasizes the use of ink, these printers employed pigment based inks for high preservability, with fade resistant properties and colour accuracy, capable of lasting over a century, the pigments are mainly used to form the basic colour materials in oil paints. As market demands shifted, we introduced giclée production technique to reproduce high quality modern artwork and developing various types of art format. Our target customers include general consumers, artists, photographers, and galleries. The process involves converting original digital images into finished products, mainly produced in canvas prints and photo prints with frame. This transition represents our shift from traditional reproduction techniques to digital reproduction methods.
Transformation of Art Print Production
Beginning in 2010s when giclee production gained popularity, we recognized excluding oil painters, a growing of demand from various groups of artists seeking reproduction services, particularly among with watercolour painters, digital designers, mixed media creators, professional photographers, graphic designers, media marketers, and interior designers. Through coordinating production processes with the participants, recognizing the need and importance of maintaining high-quality artwork value for buyers by producing with archival-grade materials under formal standardized production is essential to preserve the artwork's lasting value. This insight led to a strategic repositioning, refining our production line to elevate quality standards. In response, Gary estimated the potential of this new art production approach and founded Fine Art Digitals, elevate giclee production to a new level of "Digital Art Production" adopting advanced printing and finishing technologies that over the outdated of giclee. With the high-end production offering complete one-stop services from scanning to printing to finishing, allowing the participants to work seamlessly with us.
